2019-2020 WOODSTOWN ECLIPSE TRYOUTS

The Woodstown Eclipse U19 Girls Soccer Team are holding open tryouts for the 2019-2020 Season. Next year will be our 21st season.

We strive to provide next level training/competition in the off-season for high school aged girls (14YO through 18YO) with the love for soccer.

OUR GOALS:
  1. Have Fun Playing Soccer
  2. Individual Improvement For Each Player (Physicality/Touch/Confidence/Soccer IQ)
  3. Learn Team Concepts/Formations/Strategies
  4. Improve In The Off-Season To Be Competitive In HS/College In Order To Help Elevate Those Programs
  5. Keep The Same Core Of Girls Together Through Their Freshmen Year Of College
BONUS: Help Find A Path To Play Soccer In College If Desired.

We are a tournament team and we play in the off-season in order to support HS/College Soccer. We work to keep the cost low, travel to a minimum, yet train hard and play in very competitive college showcase tournaments. We want our girls to excel for their high school teams and expose them to opportunities to play in college.

Currently we are carded "US Club Soccer". This provides flexibility for those girls still playing township soccer which normally use NJYS Carding. Girls are encouraged to guest with other teams when the opportunities arise, as long as Eclipse events are given priority.

LATE FALL: We start training for Fall Soccer 1-2X a week at Marlton Park in Woodstown, after the HS soccer season ends, and compete in 3 tournaments/college showcases by late fall.

WINTER: We break until February, then train for Winter Soccer indoor at Gaetano's in Franklinville 1X a week and participate in an indoor league and/or indoor college showcase and/or ID Clinic.

SPRING: When the weather breaks we head outside to start training for Spring Soccer 1-2X a week back at Marlton Park in Woodstown. We shoot for another 5 tournaments/college showcases.

SUMMER: For Summer Soccer we then train 1-2X a week and are willing to play in any additional summer tournaments/college showcases/ID Clinics.

We look to keep our team together throughout their HS careers. Being a U19 team, the girls can even continue to play in their freshmen year in college. We often see the girls are directed by their college coaches to find a place to play in the off-season, so our program fits in nicely since our Alumni are welcome to any practice any time. We are a team that is as committed to the girls as they are to the team.

Our head coach and trainer is Dan Papadaniil who has run the Woodstown Eclipse for 20 years. His specialty is goalie training. Additionally, he coached for Arcadia University from 2012-2013. Prior to his time at Arcadia, he coached at Philadelphia University (Jefferson University) from 2003-2012. Not only do our girls benefit from his experience as a college coach, but his experience as a college soccer recruiter as well.

We are looking for solid players that are committed to playing soccer and having fun. We will make them better individually with their touch, soccer IQ, and confidence on the ball through practice and competition. We will also teach them the importance of team concepts, formations, and strategies.

We are real informal here, so trying out consists of coming to our next practice to see if it fits.

We are currently looking for at least 6 six girls to round out next year's roster.

Feel free to bring your friends, we only require that they enjoy and are committed to playing soccer.

Feel free to reach out to any of the coaches for additional information:
